We manufacture Twisted Pair cables – UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair),
FTP (Foil-shielded Twisted Pair), STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) and S/STP (PIMF).
No bottlenecks in the network!
No bottlenecks, that is, in present-day Category 5, 5E or 6 networks, operating at bandwidths of 100 MHz - 250 MHz and capable of carrying 1 GBit/s. Such conditions naturally impose very high demands on every component in the system. If the conductors are clamped by the normal type of connector cable grip (lower picture), the pair characteristics can change, crosstalk can occur, transmission speed can be reduced and general network performance suffers. All these problems are solved by the use of ModuFlex cables. The connectors in our moulded cables (upper picture) have no conventional cable clamps: all the conductors run freely right through to the connector - no bottlenecks.
The technology is the subject of a patent application.
Production methods
EN 55022 Class B specifies high EMC requirements for systems operating at 30 MHz and above. Screening in our ModuFlex cables is provided by a copper foil in addition to the conventional plaited wire screen, for excellent performance. The foil completely covers both the cable and the wire screen, and is soldered to the connector and to the plaited screen. The result is extremely high screening protection: the method is PATENTED. And, of course, we ensure that conductors are not untwisted over more than 13 mm, in accordance with the requirements of EN-50173.
Stronger and more reliable
The strain relief cable clamps in our cables are moulded on to the cable and the connector, and therefore remain securely fastened no matter how much the cable may be pulled or twisted. They also ensure the necessary bending radius for Category 5 cables, i.e. no sharp bends in the cable.
Slimline
Despite the fact that our cables are stronger, the moulded cable clamps are not larger than the connector. Cable insertion and removal are therefore easy, even where there is not room between the connections for a slip-on bending protection sleeve, or for connections where the cable clamp is larger than the connector.
